Andrew Muhich of Franklin, Wis., will attend Super Bowl XLV as the Green Bay Packers – NFC Designated Driver of the Season in conjunction with the ‘Responsibility Has Its Rewards Sweepstakes.’
In its eighth season, the ‘Responsibility Has Its Rewards Sweepstakes,’ a campaign brought to the NFL by TEAM Coalition, encourages fans to participate in designated driver programs supported at every NFL stadium nationwide.
Muhich pledged to be a designated driver while attending the Nov. 7, 2010, Packers-Cowboys game at Lambeau Field. That demonstration of responsible behavior was his ticket to Super Bowl XLV – including (2) tickets to the game at Cowboys Stadium in North Texas, round trip airfare, and hotel accommodations.
He was randomly selected from the Packers’ 3,068 fans that committed to the program this season.
“I am very honored to be selected as the Packers Designated Driver of the Season,” Muhich said. “I would like to thank both the Packers and Team Coalition for this opportunity to go to the Super Bowl. It is a great program.”
Throughout the Packers regular season, guests were able to sign up at five locations – three Designated Driver kiosks, as well as both concierge desks – to commit to being the designated driver of their group for that game.
In addition to the more than 3,000 fans at Lambeau Field, more than 170,000 pledges were made throughout all 32 teams during the 2010 NFL regular season.
He will be joined by Joan McConnell, the Designated Driver of the Season for the AFC Champions Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Fans who pledge to be designated drivers are critical to the success of the ‘Responsibility Has Its Rewards’ campaign,” said Jill Pepper, executive director of TEAM Coalition. “Teamwork is exactly what this campaign is all about, and through this program we are demonstrating that when everyone – including the fans – takes responsibility, everyone wins.”
Since its inception eight years ago, the Green Bay Packers’ ‘Responsibility Has Its Rewards’ program has had an increase of 74 percent in designated drivers pledges this past season.
