Packers.com editor Vic Ketchman sat down with former Packers quarterback Don Majkowski who talked about how he got his nickname, the 1989 season, getting #7, and his most memorable game.
Majkowski, a 10th-round draft pick in 1987 from the University of Virginia, started five games at
quarterback in his rookie season before replacing Randy Wright as the regular starter in 1988.
The next year, he led the Packers to a 10-6 record, their best since 1972. Majkowski, known
affectionately as "Majik Man," re-energized the Packers fan base, and, in 1989, became the first
Packers quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl since Bart Starr in 1966. Majkowski is the
Packers’ fifth-ranked passer of all time and was enshrined in the Packers Hall of Fame in 2005.
