The Green Bay Packers have signed LS Rick Lovato and placed LS Brett Goode (knee) on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Lovato, a 6-foot-2, 249-pound rookie out of Old Dominion, originally signed with the Chicago Bears as a non-drafted free agent on May 8, 2015. After spending the offseason and training camp with the Bears, he was released on Aug. 31. Lovato appeared in all 50 games for Old Dominion as the team’s long snapper from 2011-14. He will wear No. 59 for the Packers.
Goode had played in 137 consecutive games during the regular and postseason for Green Bay, including all 14 this season.
