The Green Bay Packers have signed TE Harold Spears and released CB Travis Manning. The transactions were announced Thursday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Spears, 23, signed with the New Orleans Saints as a non-drafted free agent on May 4, 2015, but was released on June 12, 2015. He played in 45 games at New Hampshire, recording 111 receptions for 1,639 yards (14.8 avg.) with 12 touchdowns. In 2014, he set career highs in receptions (56) and receiving yards (838), and tied his career best in touchdown receptions (four). Spears earned first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association and second-team All-America honors as a senior.
