Thanks to the efforts and support of Packers fans, players and employees throughout the holiday season, the Packers announced they have contributed a total of $23,000 to the Salvation Army.

The donation benefits the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, an important holiday tradition in the Green Bay community, as many of the organization’s programs operate only because of money received through Red Kettle donations.

During Packers Give Back Day on Nov. 18, a day designed to allow staff to get out of the office and give back to the Green Bay community, Packers employees rang bells at the Bay Park Square Mall. Throughout the day, fans and shoppers helped raise a total of $7,200, which was matched and added to by the team to result in a total of $15,000 in donations for the day.

To continue lending a hand to the campaign, on Mondays during the holiday season Packers players signed autographs in exchange for donations to the Salvation Army at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Monday’s signing featuring Eddie Lacy, James Jones, B.J. Raji and James Starks, as well as Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy, raised more than $3,600, bringing the total raised at the Atrium signings since Nov. 16 to $8,000.

All proceeds, including the matching funds donated by the Packers, will go toward the Salvation Army’s efforts in aiding needy families, seniors and the homeless in Green Bay.
