The Green Bay Packers are welcoming back featured alumni Brian Williams and Doug Evans for the Packers-Chiefs game on Monday, Sept. 28. Leading up to the game, the alumni will be signing autographs and visiting with fans in the Lambeau Field Atrium on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Tundra Tailgate Zone will also feature Williams on gameday from 6 to 7 p.m., where he will be visiting with fans and signing autographs. More information on the Tundra Tailgate Zone can be found online at www.packers.com/gameday/tundra-tailgate-zone.html.
Also on Monday, Evans will be visiting with fans and signing autographs during that same time in the Legends Club on the Associated Bank Club Level, an area accessible to game attendees with suite or club seat tickets, as a guest of the ‘Alumni Meet and Greet.’
Brian Williams, selected in the third round of the 1995 NFL draft, played six years at linebacker for the Packers (1995-2000), appearing in 72 contests during his time with the team. He recorded four interceptions and six sacks, and was a USA Today All-Pro selection in 1997. Williams was also a member of the Super Bowl XXXI championship team in 1996.
Doug Evans, selected in the sixth round of the 1993 NFL draft, played five years at cornerback for the Packers (1993-97) and appeared in 79 total games during his time with the team. Evans notched 12 interceptions during his Packers career, five of which were recorded during the 1996 Super Bowl XXXI championship season. Evans also recorded six sacks and seven forced fumbles with the club, and was an integral part of a defensive backfield that helped lead the team to two straight Super Bowl berths.
Williams and Evans will be featured this weekend in addition to several alumni who played against Kansas City in Super Bowl I. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of that game, Super Bowl I alumni will be introduced from the field during halftime, and prior to kickoff, the captains from Super Bowl I, Willie Davis and Bob Skoronski, will join the current team captains for the coin toss.
